I’m a UK-based software engineer specialising in PHP, JavaScript, React, and WordPress.

I’m big into retro gaming and collecting, and I love to tinker with old computers, CRT monitors, and other vintage hardware. I stream retro games on Twitch for fun.

Status

Things I'm currently working on, watching, or playing. Last updated March 24th 2026

  • Working on REST APIs and new UIs. A mix of PHP and React mostly.
  • Watching The Rookie. No other shows are grabbing me right now.
  • I've been playing through the Mega Man series on PlayStation 1. I haven't played all the X games yet.
  • Fixing some CRT monitors. Replacing capacitors. I removed an anode cap and survived!

Recently done

  • Dabbling with AI dev tools. Recently been finding Conductor useful, which excels at simple/tedious tasks in parallel.
  • I beat Azure Dreams on the PS1. It was a long JRPG, and I enjoyed it. I don't play this genre often.

Coming up

  • Travelling to Spain and the Netherlands. I'm always nervous when it comes to travelling so this is on my mind.
  • 3 month sabbatical this summer since this is my 10th year at Automattic!
  • The big 40. Feels bad man.
